Ever wonder what spring would be like if spring were a person? What do you think spring would look like? How would spring move? What would spring smell and sound like? What kinds of things do you think spring would like to do? A poem is the perfect place to do that kind of wondering! Here's what some kindergarten students came up with.
Spring likes to rest on a tree.
Spring looks like a girl wearing a purple dress.
Spring feels warm and soft.
Julia S.
Spring likes to go outside.
Spring is a boy who likes to play.
He feels like a cool breeze.
He sounds like a bird.
Daniel L.
Spring is sweaty
and smelly like fertilizer.
Spring plays basketball
and likes to dunk.
Charlie K.
Spring is a girl.
She died her hair pink. She is a singer.
Her name is Falisha.
She loves crowds.
Sofia P.
Spring is a girl.
She L-O-V-E-S pizza
and has a million dresses
and seems to enjoy nature.
Susannah M.
Spring has flowers
and it moves really slow.
Spring is quiet.

More Singing the Alphabet...
I Have a Playground Just for Me
I have a playground just for me,
I play in it with poetry,
So I decided to write a poem about this
playground
(just for me)
Once there was a playground made for me
It had swings and slides,
monkey bars to glide
and a merry-go-round to ride
I swung on the swing and slid down the slides,
I glided the monkey bars and took a ride.
But now this playgrounds history,
for it was imaginary.

Central Park
Central Park,
the place to
relax in the
deep beauty of
New York City.
The free air
to breathe,
as the woman
of freedom looks
upon you, so
you feel you are
your own leader.
