With Valentines Day around the corner, we typically think of love as something we feel for others or from others. But what about loving and appreciating ourselves? For many of us, it's easier to be self-critical than to recognize our strengths and admirable qualities. In our quest for personal growth and betterment, we may forget that we are loveable just as we are.
After a brief guided meditation to open this workshop, we'll consider why it's critical that we love ourselves and how writing can help us to do so. We'll explore writing examples, techniques, and prompts. While most of workshop time will be spent writing, there will be some time for discussion and optional sharing. Sample prompts may include writing a referral letter for yourself or a love letter to your past, present, or future self.
This workshop is designed for writers of all levels, including aspiring writers, and anyone who could use a little more self-compassion.
