Jiwar: Barcelona International Residence for Artists and Researchers in Urban Creativity

It’s in Barcelona. I probably don’t have to say anything more than that. But I will. I stayed here as part of a Writing In Response to Art workshop led by NYC poet and teacher, Sharon Dolin. Ten days. Nine cultural excursions. Eight stained glass windows in the sunroom. Seven writers. Six cafes. Five o’clock naps. Four-story brownstone. Three bakeries in a 2-block radius. Two-hour morning workshops. One fabulous proprietor (Mirea). And lots and lots of writing, revising, and synergistic creativity. Even if you don’t come for one of Sharon’s May workshops, contact Mirea to stay for an independent writer and/or artist residency. Depending on where you’re traveling from, it’s not inexpensive to get to Jiwar. But the rates to stay are very reasonable. And you can live on bread, cheese and wine.
